AFJROTC Receives Highest Rating on Evaluation
The Air Force Junior ROTC instructors and cadets of Higley Unified School District earned an overall unit assessment score of “Exceeds Standards” …the highest rating attainable…during their evaluation on 9 January 2023.
According to the inspection report, Col (Ret) Scott Vaughn and SMSgt (Ret) Danny Alltop, created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with an excellent community outreach effort.
The instructors provided outstanding leadership in administering the cadet centered citizenship program. The Higley High School and Williams Field High School cadets performed exceptionally well and took great pride in leading and accomplishing their unit goals. The Higley High School Air Force JROTC citizenship program is making a positive impact on the cadets, the school, and the community.
School and District Compliance, Instructor Performance, Cadet Operations, Leadership Development, and Unit Operations were all rated as "Exceeds Standards" – "One Team, One Fight, One Win" is not just the unit's motto, it's evident across Higley Unified School District in support of this exceptional program.
During the inspection, the Headquarters AFJROTC representative awarded Top Performer Awards to Cadets Abby Cramer and Cole Pierce, noting not only their contributions in getting the unit ready for the inspection, but also their superior performance over their entire cadet careers.
An unexpected surprise, the inspector delivered news that Cadet Cramer earned a highly competitive J-100 senior AFROTC college scholarship valued at approximately $260,000 including books, tuition, fees, housing, and a living stipend at the university of her choice. Cadet Cramer is looking forward to attending Texas A&M's nursing program and participating in their Air Force ROTC program.
