  • Gateway Pointe earns "A" from State Department of Education

    Dear Gateway Families,

It is with great pleasure that I share the following news with you.  Each year the Arizona State Board of Education (ABE) publishes letter grades for all public schools as part of their performance accountability system. Letter grades for the 2017-2018 school year were released on October 5th of this year.

I am thrilled to share with you all that Gateway Pointe once again earned the grade of “A”. Gateway Pointe’s performance was among the top five in the Higley Unified School District, placing our school in the top 15% of the entire state. Not only did our students perform exceptionally well, but our school increased its overall score by over 6% from the prior year.  Further, fewer than 100 schools in the state of Arizona with the designation of being a Full Title I school achieved this highest letter grade.

We are so proud of the dedication of our students, teachers and families who have all continued to strive for growth in academic achievement. While we are excited to celebrate this achievement, we believe there is always more we can do.  We will continue to monitor our instructional delivery, enrichment programming and targeted interventions to make sure each Gator is given the opportunity to meet their highest potential. Together we can create a rich environment that meets students’ needs for a well-rounded learning experience.

    Dr. Tim Fountain

  • E-mail communication

Higley Unified School District launched an App this spring as a tool for communication with Higley families. The new system will allow schools to send e-mails, as well as push notifications for those who download the app. In order to receive e-mail communication, families must have a current, up-to-date e-mail address on file with their schools. Families that do not have an updated e-mail with the schools may not receive all the communication being sent.

If you have changed your e-mail in the last few months, created a new e-mail or have not provided an e-mail to your school, please do so as quickly as possible. If your child is rolling up to a new school, your current information will transfer with your child.

If you have not downloaded the App, we encourage you to do so. It can be found in your favorite App store.

  • ParentVue Reminder

All HUSD families should sign up for a ParentVue account. This allows parents to view student grades and absences, as well as see – when they are posted – class schedules and teacher information. The district also uses ParentVue during class selection times at the middle schools and high schools.

Sign up requires an IN PERSON visit to the school office. If you already have a ParentVue account, and your child is moving from one HUSD school to another, no action is required. The updated information will appear when it is available.

If you have questions, please contact your school's office.
