Higley Unified School District (HUSD) offers early childhood programs designed to support student development and kindergarten readiness. Early learning environments provide opportunities for academic, social and developmental growth.

In addition to its two existing preschools, Sue Sossaman Early Childhood Development Center and Elona P. Cooley Early Childhood Development Center, the district will offer three kinderprep programs within elementary school campuses, to help prepare the district’s earliest learners for kindergarten.

Gateway Pointe Preschool includes targeted intervention programs to address individual developmental and academic needs. The campus is designated as a No Excuses University school and emphasizes goal-setting, high expectations and early awareness of postsecondary pathways.

Higley Traditional Academy Preschool follows a traditional curriculum with an emphasis on structure, academic readiness and character development. Instruction focuses on foundational skills, classroom routines and expectations designed to support a successful transition to kindergarten. The program includes a school uniform policy intended to promote consistency and school unity.

San Tan DLI Preschool is a Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program exclusively. Instruction is Spanish, supported with intentional English language development, promoting bilingualism, biliteracy, academic readiness, and cultural awareness from an early age. This program opened last year and fills up quickly, so families are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

All district preschool programs are staffed by certified teachers and offer interactive learning through purposeful play in environments designed to support individual developmental needs. Higley Unified Preschools provide flexible half-day and full-day schedules, affordable tuition options, and are located on HUSD campuses, allowing for convenient drop-off and pick-up within the district.
