Football players run onto the field waving a Higley High flag

Higley High School’s football program has made history by earning perfect scores for the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) 6A Sportsmanship Award.

The AIA officials rate teams after every game in three categories: coaches, players, and fans, on a scale of 1 to 5. Higley High received perfect 5s in all three categories for every home and away game during the regular season. Higley High Athletic Director Aaron Dille shared that the AIA confirmed this is the highest rating ever recorded for a large school in AIA history.

Dille emphasized that this recognition is a testament to everyone involved. “It’s a compliment to Coach Zubey, his staff, his players, his parents, and the entire program,” said Dille. “He’s doing it right in every way.”

The team’s success on the field, paired with their historic sportsmanship rating, highlights the Knights’ commitment to excellence and integrity. To learn more about Higley High and its campus culture to create lifelong learners united in excellence, visit their website at higleyhigh.husd.org.
