Higley Hangout- One of the department’s most popular offerings is Higley Hangout, a well-structured before and after school program that gives students a supervised environment to learn, socialize, and grow. With a strong focus on academic support, creativity, and positive social interaction, Higley Hangout has become a trusted resource for families seeking reliable care that aligns with HUSD’s culture and values.

Higley Youth Sports League- Students can explore new sports and take part in meaningful athletic experiences through this program. The mission is centered on enriching educational journeys by promoting athletics, teamwork, and positive competitive opportunities.

Each six to ten week season is structured to build strong sportsmanship, improve physical health, and support the development of essential life skills. Whether participants are trying a sport for the first time or expanding their abilities, the program offers a supportive and engaging environment for athletes of all levels.

Intersessions- In addition to daily programming, Community Education also hosts Intersession Programs, which take place during each school break. These events are known for their themed activities, hands-on learning opportunities, and a fun, camplike atmosphere that keeps students engaged while school is out of session.

With Spring Break approaching, the department is preparing for an exciting “Under the Sea” themed intersession program. Students will have the opportunity to participate in ocean-inspired activities, creative projects, and interactive learning adventures that spark curiosity and imagination.

This Spring Break intersession will be held at Power Ranch Elementary School from March 9 to March 20. Registration is now open, and families can sign up by visiting the registration page here
