Volunteers

Any parent can come and visit their child at the school. Please sign in at the front desk and wear a visitor’s sticker visible to ALL employees.

Tier I Volunteer

• Parent in the classroom
• Non parent without direct contact
• Duties such as making teacher copies, room set up

 
Tier I Requirements

• Volunteer information form
• Confidentiality statement
• Signed volunteer code of conduct

Tier II Volunteer

• All of the activities for Tier I PLUS
• On or offsite with a certified staff member
• Day field trips and direct contact in classroom

 
Tier II Requirements

• All of the requirements for Tier I PLUS
• Universal background screening form
• Signed receipt of Pertinent Policies

Tier III Volunteer

• All of the activities for Tier I & Tier II PLUS
• On or offsite without certified staff member
• Overnight field trips, clubs, coaches

 
Tier III Requirements

• All of the requirements for Tier I & Tier II PLUS
• Fingerprinting and DPS Clearance

Tier II, III & Coach volunteers are required to have a background check done, prior to being cleared as a volunteer. It is for the safety of our students.

Between 24 to 72 hours and the results are sent directly to HR. Some States can take a little longer, depending on their court process.

It can take up to 8 to 10 weeks for the fingerprints to be processed through the Department of Public Safety. The results are sent directly to HR.

There is no cost to the Volunteer. The school district processes and pays for this service.

HR has a secure file cabinet in the HR department where the completed volunteer application, background check, and fingerprints (if applicable) information are kept.

HR updates a volunteer report daily and notifies the schools weekly of the updates.

Background check forms are good for 2 years. Fingerprints processed through HR are good for 6 years. Fingerprint Clearance cards supplied by the volunteer are good as long as the expiration date on the card is still valid.
