Ms. Tracy Carlucci

Welcome to the 19-20 School Year!

My name is Tracy Carlucci and I am excited to be your fourth grade teacher here at Power Ranch Elementary! I am looking forward to a year filled with creative thinking and inspired learning. The philosophy of my classroom is OTI: Observe, Think, Innovate! My goal is to support students as they develop the skills to be critical listeners, focused scholars, and innovative problem-solvers.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY where I was fortunate enough to have participated in gifted education programs with amazingly passionate teachers who inspired me to develop a true understanding of the power of education. As an undergraduate, I attended Stony Brook University on Long Island followed by graduate school at St. John's University in Queens. I have Master's Degrees in Sociology, Counseling, and Gifted Education and have been an educator and/or counselor for the past 24 years, the last eleven of which have been at Higley.

I have two children of my own. My son, Giovanni, is currently pursuing a dual bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe. My daughter, Joie, is a junior at Casteel High School where she is completing her fourth year of American Sign Language and will be a certified interpreter for the hearing-impaired next summer.

Having moved to Arizona a little over twenty years ago, I find myself loving it here more and more as time flies by. I have made such special friends and absolutely love watching my students grow throughout their elementary school years. This year, I will be coaching a competitive Rubiks Cube Team and a Robotics Team. Together, we are known as the Panther STEAM Team and love showing off our amazing engineering skills and forward-thinking ideas.

In my free time, I love watching reality TV and spending time with my three cats: Milford, Juliet, and Charlie Whiskers. I enjoy researching new ways to integrate technology and project-based learning into my classroom keeping students on the cutting edge of twenty-first century learning. I am passionate about animals and protecting our planet, especially the oceans. This theme will show up in my teaching as I truly believe that today's fourth graders have the insight and intrinsic motivation to make the world a better place.

The best educational experience comes from a strong supportive relationship between parents, teachers, and students. My door is always open for a visit! Have a wonderfully successful school year!
