Hello! I am Veronica Porter and I am a graduate of Arizona State University. As a Higley High alumna, I am so excited to come back to the Kingdom and share my love of language and culture with my students!
I am half Portuguese and grew up speaking Portuguese with my mom, and we visit Portugal often as a family. This led me to take Spanish starting in 6th grade, since they are somewhat similar languages, and I stuck with it ever since! I also lived in Ukraine for a year and a half while I was serving a mission for my church. While I was there, I spoke Russian and learned to understand a lot of Ukrainian. I also took 2 years of French.
As you can see, I absolutely LOVE language and culture! I can't wait to broaden perspectives and appreciate the beauty of the world with my students.
