Hello! I am thrilled to be your child's teacher! It's going to be a great year. While I am new to Coronado, I have been teaching for 10 years. I taught 1st and 2nd grade for the Tempe School District as well as 4th grade for eight years in the Kyrene School District. I also stayed home for a few years to raise my kids while they were little and owned a successful wedding planning company during that time, too. We are a Higley family here in Gilbert, so it's wonderful to join Coronado!
I graduated from ASU with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I grew up in a suburb of Boston (Go Red Sox!). When I'm not working, I love spending time with my husband, Jason, and our son and daughter. We love hosting family and friends, exploring new places, or just relaxing at home for a game night. I love to read, cheer my kids on at their various activities/sports, travel, dance, and make the most of every day.
I do my best to make learning as fun as possible! I am very passionate about keeping every one of my students engaged and challenged daily. I strive to ignite a life-long love of learning and help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me anytime.
