I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. I moved to Arizona 8 years ago with my husband, Mario, and our two kids, Mario Jr., and Anita.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Dance from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I taught dance to children and adults and performed professionally. I then went on to receive my master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Columbia College Chicago. As a Creative Arts Therapist, I have worked with seniors and children in long-term care and behavioral health settings. This is my first year as a school counselor and I am so grateful to be part of the Higley family.
You can find me on the dance floor in my free time. I teach a dance fitness format called COMMIT dance fitness at a fitness center and memory care community in Chandler.
