My name is Andrew Hutchinson and I was born and raised in the amazing state of Arizona! I grew up near the town of Prescott Valley, received a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Arizona in Tucson, followed by a master's degree in Secondary Education from Arizona State University in Tempe. This will be my 5th year in teaching, and second year teaching 8th grade social studies at SMS.
Before teaching here at Sossaman I also taught 7th grade social studies for three years in the Kyrene School District, where I also sponsored an after school club dedicated to having students interview military veterans and preserve their life stories in the Library of Congress. Other than teaching I have also managed various Adult Education programs for public libraries, and worked with adults living with developmental disabilities by assisting them in locating high-quality foster care.
In my spare time I enjoy reading books, hiking mountain trails, traveling to new places, spending time with my friends and family, and partaking in far too much iced coffee for my own good.
