I am excited about starting a new school year and getting to know you. Here are a few tidbits about me...I lived in Woodstock, Illinois until I was 11 years old (Go Bears!!), and then I moved to Colorado, which is where I lived until 2 years ago. In Colorado, I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver and worked on my Master's degree at Regis University in Denver. I've taught 5th and 6th grade in Colorado, but I have to say that 6th is my favorite!!
I have 4 children...my oldest is a junior at GCU and my younger 3 attend Cortina! As a parent, I love all that Cortina has to offer and so I am especially excited for the opportunity to teach here! My husband and I also have 3 dogs who we consider our "other children" and they are quite spoiled. More than anything else, I love being with my family!
Outside of teaching and family, I coach volleyball year round. I coach high school in the summer and fall, and club in the winter and spring! I am also an International Exchange Coordinator for the East Valley and so I oversee exchange students who come for the school year! I truly love teaching and being a positive person in my students lives! I believe that it is not only my job to teach, but to also create an environment where all students feel accepted, valued and respected!
