I am a new teacher to Cortina Elementary. I come from a family of educators, specifically special education. My mother is a retired special education teacher and I also have several cousins, aunts that were educators as well.
I grew up in Upstate New York. I Went to school in Milwaukee, WI where I also met my husband. I have a son who is now 12 who has special needs and his companion our white shepherd lab mix named Hotshot.
Although this is my first year teaching at Cortina Elementary I have worked as a clinician, a paraprofessional, and as a Behavioral Health Technician in a residential setting for males with Autism Spectrum Disorders. I worked as a Behavioral Health Technician last year at Williamsfield high School. I have a passion for working with special needs students. I look forward to creating rapport with both my students and parents to bridge those relationships for the school year and beyond.
