My name is Karly Pillsbury and I will be your students 5th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher! This is my third year teaching at San Tan Elementary but my 12th year being a Scorpion. I am a San Tan Alumni, I went to school here from kindergarten to 8th grade! I'm so lucky to be back at my home giving back to my students all that this school gave me!
I graduated from Northern Arizona University with an elementary education degree and a minor in disability studies. I taught 4th grade for two years and this will be my first year in 5th. I'm so excited to teach ELA and Social Studies as they are my too favorite subjects! I live in Scottsdale with my best friend and my dog, Milo! On my free time I enjoy to read, travel, bake sweets, spend way too much money on Amazon and hang out with my amazing friends and family.
I firmly believe that each and every student is a leader of their learning. Every student is intelligent in their own way and that should be celebrated. I love being able to do projects and hands on activities to push our learning even further! I am a huge believer in social and emotional learning and love that I am able to be each and everyone of my students go to person for all of their things!
