Welcome to 2020-2021!
My name is Joshua Tetreau and am thrilled to be a fourth-grade teacher here at Power Ranch Elementary! This year we face challenges unlike any before, but I am ready and excited to see what new ways we can all learn and grow together.
After being born in Minnesota, my family soon after moved here to Arizona. I have grown up in Arizona my whole life and have always been fascinated with the beauty of this state. It was here in Arizona that I graduated high school and pursued an Elementary Education degree at Arizona State University. While at ASU, I added both a STEM focus to my degree and graduated with an Environmental Education certificate. I finished both my BA and my student teaching this year, which makes this my first year teaching.
I am approaching this year with a confident yet humble attitude. On one hand, I am prepared and determined to be the best 4th grade teacher I can be. I will constantly strive to not only be a positive role model, but also provide the level of learning and support that every student deserves. However, I also must stay humble and teachable. This is my first year teaching, so I have a lot to learn and am ready to have honest conversations; to learn both from my peers and from anyone I interact with.
During my free time, I love swimming and playing fetch with my dog, Maximus. I play guitar, piano, drums, and other flutes and whistles. I also really like fictional universes, so if anyone wants to talk about Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, or even Avatar the Last Airbender, I would love to.
My door is always open. Any questions or concerns you might have; I would love to talk about. Even to just talk about life and get to know me better, do not hesitate to reach out! I am excited for what this year is going to bring!
