My name is Natalie Walraven and I have been an educator for a little over 13 years. I graduated from ASU with my B.A. in Elementary Education and immediately began my teaching career at Cortina in January 2007 as a 4th grade teacher. In 2011, my daughter was born, and I decided to stay home full time to take care of her. During that time, I obtained my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Gifted Education.
At the time, my husband's profession transferred us to Fort Worth, Texas. While living in Texas I went back to the classroom as a Gifted Specialist in grades K-4th. My family and I missed Arizona and our family so much we moved back in 2017. When we returned, I began working in the Queen Creek Unified School District as a 5th grade teacher for two years and a 6th grade teacher for one year. I absolutely love teaching 5th graders and I am so excited to be back teaching at Cortina!
