My name is Qiong Xia. I am originally from Wuhan, China. I have been in education field for almost 20 years. I have been living in the States for 13 years. I first came to the States in 2007 to pursue my master’s degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of Northern Iowa after teaching English for 5 years. I obtained the Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Curriculum and Instruction, specialized in Second Language Education and Culture, from the University of Maryland in 2016.
Over the course of my career, I have taught both English and Mandarin Chinese to different age groups, ranging from elementary to college students. I really enjoy the process of teaching the language and culture. I have also provided workshops and training for language teachers during my doctoral study. I moved to AZ to reunite with my husband. We have three children, two boys and one girl.
I love spending time with my family on watching movies, going outside, and playing games. I also enjoy learning new languages, culture, and learning about cuisines of different countries.
