Hello Chaparral Sharks!
I am thrilled to join the Chaparral community! My name is Amanda Day. I am both excited and honored to serve as Chaparral’s Dean of Students.
On a personal note, I was born and raised in a small town in Kentucky known as Burlington and moved to Arizona in 2004. I earned my Master’s in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification and Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. Go Sun Devils! I also hold endorsements in Gifted Education and Structured English Immersion. I am joining Chaparral’s administrative team with six years of experience in the classroom and one year as a Gifted & Talented Specialist Coach. The 2020-2021 school year will mark my eighth year serving the Higley district. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends on the lake, traveling the world, and attending Arizona Cardinals and D-Backs games!
I am committed to building strong professional relationships with the Chaparral students, families, staff and community members as we work together to achieve academic excellence while meeting the social and emotional needs of each individual child to ensure not only academic success but also personal growth! I am a strong believer that my role in education and as Chaparral’s Dean of Students is to inspire, prepare, and empower all students and educators with the knowledge and skills to be positive leaders achieving excellence and making a positive impact on our everchanging world.
I look forward to meeting each and every one of you as we conquer the 2020-2021 school year together and continue the The Leader in Me journey here at Chaparral. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call 480.279.7913.
