I'm originally from Waverly, Iowa, where I graduated from Wartburg College with a B.A. in Elementary Education. After graduating, I married my husband and best friend, Eric, and we moved to the Des Moines area. While living in Des Moines, I taught 2nd grade for 7 years in Van Meter, Iowa. After having our three kids, I was blessed to be able to be a stay-home mom for 14 years. During that time, our family moved a few times for my husband’s work.
In 2017, I went back to work as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom. It was while working as a para that I realized I wanted to return to full-time teaching. I am so thankful I did! I obtained my Arizona teaching certificate in 2019 and soon joined the Power Ranch Elementary family. I am so happy and proud to be a Power Ranch Panther!
It is important to me that your child feels safe and secure in the classroom, so that he or she will be willing to ask questions and take risks in learning. I strive to provide a caring, nurturing learning environment while creating high expectations for learning. It is equally important to me that you and I maintain open communication with each other.
