• WHAT IS TITLE 1?

Title 1 is a federally funded program designated to provide instruction for children who need extra academic support. The goals of Title 1 are to help children succeed in the regular classroom and improve achievement in reading and math. The program provides children the opportunity to acquire the skills needed to meet the highest standards expected of all children. Chaparral is currently receiving Title 1 dollars to help provide materials and support in the areas of reading and math. This year we plan to use Title 1 dollars to provide a paraprofessional, Fall intersession, Spring Intersession, Summer school, and academic materials to both students and teachers.

    HOW ARE WE FUNDED?

Title 1 money is distributed to schools based on the school's free and reduced lunch count. For every child who qualifies for "Free and Reduced Lunch", the state gives us dollars to ensure all students meet the high and challenging academic standards.
