Hello! I am Mrs. Mellott and I am absolutely thrilled to be your child’s first grade teacher this year. We are going to learn so much this year, while filling the classroom with fun, love, and laughter. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and your family this school year.
A little about me… I am married to my amazing husband of 17+ years and we live in Gilbert with our 3 kids (15, 13, and10), our yellow lab, and our sweet cat. While Arizona has been my home for 22 years, I grew up in Minnesota. My bachelors degree is from Grand Canyon University and my teaching certificate from Rio Salado College.
This will be my second year teaching first grade at Coronado Elementary. All 3 of my children attended Coronado, so I am familiar with and love this school and culture. My goal in the classroom is to share with my students a love of learning that will continue for each of them into their futures.
Communication is key, so please know that I will be communicating as often as possible and welcome each of you to communicate with me whenever you feel like you need to. I am very excited to start this school year and look forward to getting to know all of you!
My name is Kerrie Mellott. I am a graduate of Grand Canyon University with a degree in psychology and I received my Early Childhood Education teaching certificate from Rio Salado College. I was a substitute teacher in the Higley school district for four years before becoming a first grade teacher at Coronado Elementary.
Originally from Minnesota, I moved to Arizona where I met my husband. We live in Gilbert with our 3 children. In my free time, I love to be outdoors and enjoy spending time camping and hiking. I also love to read and play board games with my family.
