My name is Emily Nicholas and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! I am a graduate of Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, and Chandler-Gilbert Community College. At NAU, I received my Master’s in Early Childhood Education with my reading and early childhood endorsement in December 2010. In May 2006, I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from ASU along with my SEI endorsement. I also graduated with my Associates in Arts Degree from Chandler-Gilbert Community College in May 2004.
I have been teaching for 17 years. 13 years were in kindergarten and this is my 4th in first grade! I am originally from West Virginia, but moved to Gilbert, Arizona when I was three-years-old. I attended elementary through high school in the Gilbert Public School District and graduated from Gilbert High School. I am an aunt to two beautiful nieces who live in Mesa and my parents still live in Gilbert. Some things I enjoy besides teaching are CrossFit, spending time with family and friends, dogsitting, hiking, shopping, relaxing, and traveling to all beach destinations.
