My name is Brooke Teichert. I am originally from a little bit of everywhere. I grew up moving a lot but spent a lot of my life right here in Gilbert, AZ. I attended Higley High School a long, long time ago. I spent my college years in Idaho where I received my degree in English Education. I have been teaching since 2015 and have been at Higley since 2016 as a teacher and coach! Over the course of my career I have taught English 8 and 9, Honors 10 and American Literature 11.
I have also taught Creative Writing and Journalism. I have had the amazing opportunity to coach Higley Spiritline for the past four years alongside four other incredible coaches. The girls in this program are hardworking, fantastic human beings. I feel so lucky to coach in this program! When I am not teaching, I love to spend time traveling or binge watching a good show with my husband Zeb and beautiful and sassy little 2-year-old Dorothy Sue.
My time here as a Higley Knight and it's been a great experience thanks to the students here on this campus. The students here are creative, smart, funny, and overall wonderful human beings. In my classroom, my main goals are helping the students to think critically for themselves and for them to leave being kind, good people. I want them all to learn and grow in English of course, but also in life.
