My name is Karie Ludlum. This will be my fifth year of teaching in Arizona and my 16th year of teaching. I have taught grades 3, 4, 6 and 1 year as teacher of the visually impaired and reading strategist. Teaching is my 2nd career. Prior to teaching I was an optician and clinic manager. I attended college in North Dakota and graduated from Minot State University (Go Beavers!) where I caught the teaching bug. I am a proud USAF veteran where I received my education in the Optical field.
My husband and I are proud parents of 3 amazing daughters and 6 joy filled grandchildren. During my free time I love to swim, read, hike, do a little painting and most of all spend time with family and friends.
Educational Philosophy: My educational philosophy is based on a quote from Nelson Mandela which states: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." In creating critical thinkers who strive to learn, we are empowering change for the future.
