My name is Karla Heleotes and this year I will be the Gifted teacher. I am excited to begin my 28th year of teaching and my 14th year in the Higley District. I am proud to be a part of the HTA family!
I was born in Indiana but moved to Arizona when I was 14 so I feel like I am almost a native. I went to Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!). My husband and I have been married for 27 years. We have one son, Ethan, who will be attending Arizona State University. I have 1 old and grumpy cat and 2 crazy corgis, Shea and Lulu.
In my spare time I enjoy playing ball with the dogs, taking them for walks and road trips, reading all different kinds of books, spending time with the family and shopping at Target!
