My name is Elizabeth Melter and I am a 3rd grade teacher at Bridges Elementary. I have been teaching for twelve years with a variety of experience in grades K, 3, 4, and 5. I look forward to embarking on another educational journey with this year's third grade.
I was born and raised in Tempe, AZ. I am a dog-mom to three Golden Retrievers- Hannah, Jack, and Ellie. They are pure love combined with a lot of fur! I have one brother who lives in Seattle with his wife. My first niece was born this past November. Never could I have imagined the joy of being an aunt! I am an avid reader and a big fan of superhero movies. I love sunflowers, thunderstorms, Lake Tahoe, the color red, and polar bears.
I have BS in Organizational Management. a Masters in Elementary Education, and a Masters in Educational Leadership. I served as principal as a small charter school in Ahwatukee before deciding I would like to experience a different school environment. I am beyond lucky to have landed in Higley among such an amazing community.
I take great joy in helping to empower students to take initiative and pride in their educational journeys. I love the STEAM and PBL-focus of Bridges as it offers great avenues for curiousity and creativity. I am a firm believer in life-long learning and providing students with the skills necessary to be successful in third grade and in their future lives.
Please know that I am always available to assist in any way I can. Please feel free to email me with questions or concerns.
I look forward to a wonderful 2019-2020 school year.
