My name is Laura Hernandez and I am entering my sixth year at Bridges Elementary and my 13th year as an educator. I began this journey as a member of the highly selective New Teacher Project in Austin, Texas. Having worked several years in an International Baccalaureate school helped me to see and teach connections to students across a variety disciplines. I hold the Gifted Endorsement from the State of Arizona. I love helping students explore their curiosity about the world around them.
I am an avid hiker, photographer and traveler and love to recharge in the great outdoors. I have two children: one former Bridges graduate now attends Casteel High School, and the other studies software engineering at Northern Arizona University.
