Dear Centennial families and community members,

It is with great pride and gratitude to be the assistant principal of Centennial Elementary, and entrusted with the responsibilities of continuing a tradition of educational excellence within the Higley Unified school district. This will be my fifth year as AP and look forward to working with you all, as I best serve our students towards academic success and personal achievement.

My name is Matthew Verville and I am excited to begin another school year with all of you. I look forward to working with everyone who makes Centennial Elementary a wonderful place to learn, work, and be a part of. The amazing culture and community of Centennial’s campus has been created by our families and students, leadership team, and the talented educators that dedicate themselves every day to ensure a high academic learning environment for your child. I feel fortunate to be able to work alongside these incredible people as I share in their passion of service to provide an education that is engaging, enriching, and inspiring.

Over the past nine years as a Higley teacher and administrator, I understand the importance and value in creating strong professional relationships. I will work hard to earn your trust and promise to continue the traditions that have made Centennial who they are, and that of which we envision for our future. I hope that together we will continue to develop as a school and community that is student focused, collaborative, and works hard to reach our highest potential.

Personally, I am a lucky husband of 14 years and proud father of a 22-year-old daughter, who is currently studying education at NAU. I am originally from New England, but have called Arizona home for the last twenty years. I have a passion for the outdoors and sports, and enjoy time with my family. Whether it be at home relaxing or camping up in the mountains, anytime with them helps recharge the batteries and bring balance to my life. I am a graduate of both Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University, where I received my graduate degree in Educational Administration and Leadership. In my down time, I truly enjoy cooking for anyone and everyone, trying new places with my wife and best friend, or lounging with our dog Daisy watching the Patriots on a Sunday.

I look forward to working with you and your children this year, in what should be another amazing year at Centennial, where we always ACT 212 and go the extra degree in everything we do.

    Go Cardinals!

    Sincerely,
    Matthew Verville
