    Hello Families,

My name is Shawna Stingel and I am the new Elementary Gifted & Talented Education Teacher for K-6.  I colloborate with accelerated classroom teachers to select and/or redesign lessons for accelerated ELA and Math that are rigorous and allow for differentation based on readiness and interest.  I also collaborate with identified teachers of gifted/talented students in grades K-6 to support differentiated curriuclum and instruction which include designing materials or gathering resources for use in the classroom. I am super excited for this new position and can't wait to make a difference in the 2019-2020 scool year.

Let me share a bit about my teaching career.  This is my 17th year teaching.  Of those 17 years 16 have been in Higley.   I have taught at Chaparral and Power Ranch Elementary in grades first, second, fourth and fifth.  Fifth is my favorite!  I truly love this district and know that it is the best district in the world.  Also, did I tell you I live in the community and have two daughters that are San Tan alumni??

Like I said, I live in the community and have a vested interest in our families.  I have two daughters, named Hannah and Haley.  Hannah graduated from ASI and is currently working in Newport, California and Haley is a sophmore at NAU.  I have been married to my husband, Robert for 25 years and we have two small dog; Bean and Gigi.

Along the way, I have learned  so much about education and our young growing minds.  I continue to learn with every year.  I treasure the connections that I have made along the way with students and families.  I am looking forward to making more of those lasting connections and memories with you and your family.

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Stingel
