• Hello Super Kindergarten Families!

I am so excited to start the 2018-2019 school year!  This will be my 3rd year at San Tan Elementary and my 2nd year in the Spanish Immersion Program!  San Tan is a great place to learn and grow and I am so happy to be a part of the Kindergarten Team here.

Here is a little information about me, Mrs. Porter!

My name is Meghan Porter, and this will be my 13th year in the teaching profession. I earned my BS degree in Elementary Education in 2007 from Arizona State University.  In 2013, I graduated with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with and emphasis on Reading also from Arizona State University.

I have lived in Arizona since 2001 and I couldn’t see myself living anywhere else.  When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband Tom, our 1 year old Ross, and our dog Salsa.   I really enjoy watching TV, writing, reading, and swimming.

Kindergarten is the best!  In my 13 years of teaching, 12 of them have been in kindergarten and I never want to do anything else!  My goal this year is for every child to learn to love school, feel safe and be a positive leader. When this happens their love for learning evolves and continues throughout their lifetime.

Good communication is the key to academic success!  I love working with parents as a team because we both want your kiddo to succeed. Some of the many ways I will be in contact with you are through your child’s daily Take Home Folder, weekly newsletters sent through email, e-mails, progress reports, parent conferences and report cards.  I will also be continuing our class Instagram account.  This will give you a glimpse into daily classroom life and to see all the fun things that we will do.  I will be sending additional information when the year begins!

I look forward to working with your Super Leader this year and helping them to grow as Leaders! Thank you for sharing your kiddo with me!

    Lets have a super year!!

     Mrs. Porter
