My name is Meryl Kowalczyk. I am so excited to continue with the amazing staff at San Tan Elementary and begin my 16th year teaching. I will be teaching resource for children receiving special education services in kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. I have taught first grade, self-contained for students with autism and cross-category self-contained. I live in San Tan Valley with my husband, Kenneth, two children, Brenden (12) and Zoe (10), as well as our four dogs- Ellie, Lexie, Cubby and Magie!
I received my Bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University in Elementary and Special Education. I have received Master's degree's from Northern Arizona University in Elementary Education as well as Special Education. Most recently, I completed my Master's degree from Arizona State University in Curriculum and Instruction: Applied Behavior Analysis. I love to learn and research methods in education and am truly a life-long learner.
I believe that all children are capable of learning and feeling successful at school. I have high expectations for my students and love to work with families to make sure that we are all working toward the same goals, in the best interest of the child.
