    About Me:

This is my third year teaching at Higley High School. I am proud to be a Higley Knight!
I absolutely love everything about learning languages and different cultures! I had the opportunity to study abroad for a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina during college. I also lived in northern Spain for one year! I am honored to be able to share my life experiences with my students to be able to give them a personal perspective and insight to the Latin- American and Spanish culture.

In my free time I love to travel, hike, and spend time with my family. I am an Arizona native and I love my Wildcats!

    Educational Philosophy:

My main goals in teaching are to help students develop their 21st century skills and inspire and motivate them to communicate in the Spanish language. I like to create an engaging classroom environment that make students want to learn by incorporating real-world elements and by making them relevant to their lives. I believe that learning another language gives students the opportunity to think about their own community and the world through a different lens.

“Learning another language is not only learning different words for the same things, but learning another way to think about things.” –Flora Lewis

    Summer 2020 Travel Opportunity

I am organizing a trip to Mexico in June 2020 through Explorica tours. This is not a Higley High sponsored trip, but an opportunity that all students and parents can participate in.  Please contact Sra. Mota for more information on how to sign up!
