Welcome to Mr. Glees's 2019-2020 second grade class!
It is going to be a great year! I am looking forward to meeting all of you; here is a little about myself. This will be my tenth year teaching, my fourth year in Higley, and my second year at Bridges. I attended Roosevelt University in Chicago where I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education. I then taught in the Chicago suburb of Barrington for six years as a substitute, fifth grade teacher, and fourth grade teacher. I moved here three years ago from the suburbs of Chicago with my wife Jessica. I taught fourth grade at Coronado Elementary for two years before coming to Bridges. I am excited to be teaching second grade, and being a part of Bridges Elementary. Some of you may recognize me as the boys' basketball coach. I look forward to our season this year. I also coach the Robotics Team and look forward to another successful season.
So here's a fun fact: my wife and I welcomed a new edition to our family in January! It is our first child! Her name is Skylar and she is just the cutest, happiest baby and we have so much fun watching her grow!
I love learning and teaching. I also love baseball (Go Cubs! 2016 World Series Champions!), all Chicago teams except for the White Sox (crosstown rivals!), Manchester City (back to back Premier League Champions) and listening to and playing music. I am glad to be here in second grade and at Bridges. The staff is fantastic and there will be so many opportunities for exploring and learning! I am looking forward to a great year with all of you!
