Higley Unified School District is a distinguished district in Arizona that serves students at 16 schools located in Gilbert and Queen Creek, including HUSD's very own Virtual Academy. Students succeed on a number of academic markers as teachers prepare learners today to achieve their goals and dreams of tomorrow.The 2021-2022 school year began July 26, 2021. Higley schools offer a well-rounded education with academics, music, art, languages, athletics, physical education, technology, and character education. Schools provide a safe and inviting environment for learning. Extra-curricular activities begin at the elementary school level, with dozens of options available at the high schools.

Academics
With a focus on solid educational offerings from preschool through high school, classroom teachers focus on each student's learning, taking the guesswork out of education with data-driven instruction and accountability.
Gifted and accelerated learning options start in preschool and move through high school.
Higley and Williams Field High Schools offer 35+ Advanced Placement and dual enrollment classes to better prepare students for college and careers.
ArtsWeekly art and music instruction are provided to all elementary students. Band, orchestra and choir begin at the elementary level.
Fine art electives at the secondary level include choir, band, orchestra, drama, drawing, dance and painting and ceramics.
Higley middle and high school students receive accolades state- and nationwide for their talents, including state titles in marching band and color guard. Music groups consistently receive superior ratings.
AthleticsAll Higley schools provide opportunities in sports. Elementary students can join the Higley Youth Sports League, with fun recreational sports offered each quarter for older students and cheerleading for all age levels.
Middle schools participate in the East Valley Conference: baseball/softball, volleyball, flag football, basketball, cross country, soccer, wrestling, and track and field.
High schools programs include state- and playoff-bound teams. Sports played are: football, volleyball, golf, swimming and diving, cross-country, softball, track, basketball, soccer, spiritline, wrestling and tennis.
ActivitiesSchools offer a number of extra-curricular activities based on student-interest. At the elementary level, students may find clubs based on the arts, robotics, writing, student government or community service.
The same themes continue at the middle school level. Students continue to add to the club options each year. Both campuses host National Junior Honor Society clubs.
High school students will find activities to explore interests. Nearly 60 options are available in the arts, athletics, STEM-focus, academics, service learning and more.
