Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Torquato

Dear Coronado Families,

My name is Angela Torquato, or Ms. T (as most of my students call me). This is my 5th  year in third grade at Coronado, and my third year teaching in the Mandarin program. I am very excited to be here. I have my bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education from the Mary Lou Fulton Teacher's College at Arizona State University.

I’ve lived in Arizona all my adult life but I love traveling to visit friends and family from out of state. Still, coming back home is the best part of any trip for me. I love to read, write, and draw in my spare time. In my personal library I have collected over 810 books for myself since I was a little girl. I haven’t read all of them, but I’m working on it!

As an educator, my desire is build up all my students with confidence and instill in each the knowledge needed to be successful.  I love teaching and third grade is my favorite year. It’s a blessing to be a part of each student's life as they grow and mature throughout the school year. I’ve seen so many wonderful successes and celebrated with many of the students in their personal triumphs. In my classroom I believe in working collaboratively with the family, students, and other teachers for the collective success of all my third graders.

Just like my students, I learn something new each day. For example, did you know that an ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain? Did you know 85% of plant life is found in the ocean? (The ocean is my favorite habitat to look at when we study animal habitats.) Every day is a good day if you learn something new!

I hope you have a fantastic summer where you make terrific memories and come back ready to learn. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you so that we can have a great year in third grade together.
