My name is Coach Montoya and I’m a young, energetic, eager teacher of physical education. I graduated from Arizona State University in May, 2015 where I earned my K-12 teaching certificate for teaching Physical Education. I’ve been working for HUSD for 3 years in the Community Education Department.
My objectives as a physical educator is to teach students about movement, strategies, teamwork, problem solving and health related fitness. Throughout various activities, students in P.E your child will learn how to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives. It is my ultimate goal to instill enjoyment of physical activity, as well as an understanding of the importance of maintaining physical fitness.
My expectations for my students are simple, give me your best (attitude and effort), have fun and enjoy being physically active!
My hopes and expectations for you as parents is to work together as a team to help improve your child’s performance in P.E. This means to please make sure your child is always prepared and to notify for any reason(s) your child may not participate.
Not many teachers can tell you that being a Physical Educator is a lifelong dream, but I can. My entire life I have had three consistent passions, fitness, sports and educating youth. There is just something about seeing a child eager to be healthy and putting forth their absolute best efforts that just warms my heart. Thank you for your time and please do not hesitate to contact me for any questions.
