My name is Alexander Rivera and I am the band director at Cortina Elementary, Centennial Elementary, and San Tan Elementary. I am a native to Arizona and received my Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from The University of Arizona. While at The University of Arizona I performed in various groups and on multiple instruments including tuba, trombone, euphonium, and steel drums.
Being in these groups led to performances all over the Southwest and parts of Europe as an ensemble member and soloist. During the summer I spent time with my family and friends. Throughout the year I teach private lessons and master classes to brass students from all levels. This will be my tenth-year teaching in the Higley.
