Mrs. Shauna Scheffner
Hello parents and students,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I look forward to working with your child and watching them succeed! I want to share with you a few things about myself. I grew up in the Pine/Payson area. I moved to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University, where I received my Masters in Early Childhood Education with a Special Education Endorsement. After graduation, I moved to the Gilbert area. I have a wonderful blended family. My husband Ken is a police officer and a wonderful father. We love spending time with our five amazing children. Shelby is 17, Logan is 13, Trace is 10, Tyson is 10, and Parker is 6. We stay pretty busy at home, as you can imagine. We also love hiking and playing sports. This is my six year teaching, but I have previous experience working with First Things First overseeing preschool programs and state funded programs.
As a Kindergarten teacher, I enjoy teaching students through active learning in a multi-sensory environment. My students learn using games, small and large group activities, and classroom projects. Your student will be actively learning every day. They might even get a little messy from time to time. I will use data driven instruction to help drive my teaching. My goal is to help every student succeed based on their individual needs.
If you need to get in touch with me please feel free to call or e-mail me at any time. You can reach me by calling the front desk at 480-279-7200 or my direct voicemail line at 279-7254. You can also email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I check my email often and will get back to you as soon as possible. Email is the best way to communicate with me. I can't always answer the phone when I am teaching. I will send emails and share info on our group Facebook page often throughout the school year to keep you informed of all the fun activities, we are working on in our class and school.
Thank you so much for trusting me with your child. I will do my very best to help them learn all the skills necessary to succeed in the future. Today Kindergarten, Tomorrow College and Beyond.... I look forward to an amazing school year!
