Literacy Specialist
I am so excited to be at Bridges for the 2018-2019 school-year!
This is my fifth year in the Higley School District! I come to Bridges with 22 years of teaching experience. I have taught all grades K-4, been a literacy coach, a Title I reading intervention teacher, reading specialist and a gifted coach. This year I am excited to take on the role of Literacy coach for Bridges!
I have taught in the West Valley, Tempe, the states of Illinois, Massachusetts, and Texas. I grew up in Tucson as a Wildcat fan, but I am a graduate from NAU with both a bachelors and master’s degree in Elementary Education.
This is an exciting year as we continue to grow the foundation of our newest elementary school in HUSD! Our students will be engaged in reading literature, poetry, dramas and non-fiction texts. We will spend our time experiencing Project Based Learning models, STEM, finding solutions to real world problems and using our creativity this year!
