My name is Alicia Gow. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from UC Santa Barbara with a Post-baccalaureate certificate in Secondary Education as well as a Le Cordon Bleu Certificate in Baking and Patisserie. In addition to teaching science, I’ve coached girls’ volleyball, advised Student Council and our school’s earth club.
I’ve been teaching students about life through the lens of biology, and recently chemistry, over the last seven years. I am an enthusiastic and passionate educator who is passionate about supporting students from general through Advanced Placement education with an emphasis on project based learning, service learning, collaboration and mindfulness.
I love creating meaningful relationships with my students within and beyond the classroom as relationships build trust and lead to engagement and learning. I am a compassionate educator who sees the best in students to help them reach their potential and seeks to inspire their love of science, life and learning.
