I believe students thrive in a challenging, engaging and positive environment so I strive to implement daily lessons that create these types of educational opportunities. I encourage students to recognize that they are capable of learning and achieving the success they choose, if they are willing to do the work. My classroom focus is biology, however, the true learning or take home learning is to be able to problem solve, think critically and be prepared for higher education and/or their future careers.
My Niche (vocab word!!)
Growing up on the coast of California (habitat!), I naturally developed a deep love for being outdoors and a reverance for all the life I observed and interacted with. My innate curiousity and insatiable quest for learning encouraged a migratory spirit that has led me on an interesting career path. There was no doubt (from family and friends) that animals, nature and education would be the ingredients of my career, however, as weened organisms do, I had to discover and experience life before I could comfortably share their insights. From health food stores to bakeries, I've explored interesting places and acquired odd skills and knowledge, but with eacn new experience, education and nature were at the root of what I enjoyed most. As a teacher, my passions intermix with my career and I get to love what I do!!!
