IMPORTANT ATHLETIC UPDATE:The Spartan Nation is holding off on athletics until in person learning has resumed. We are working behind the scenes to ensure we are ready to go when school buildings reopen. We are also working closely with other East Valley Conference schools to ensure a consistent and equitable training schedule for EVC athletes. Specific details about tryouts will be released as soon. For the time being, the best things you can be doing are:
In an effort to keep our athletes and families safe we have made an exception to the physical examination requiresments for the 2020-2021 school year. If you had an approved AIA physical form in our system (Register My Athlete) for the 2019-2020 school year, it will also be valid for the 2020-2021 athletic seasons. If you did not have an approved physical ON OUR CAMPUS from last year, you will be required to follow the eligibility and clearance below. In an effort to keep students safe, we are attempting to limit the opportunities for athletes to share equipment. Students will need to bring their own water to tryouts/practices when they resume. We will have protocols in place for the refilling of water bottles, but traditional water carts/drinking fountains will not be used. Athletes may not be allowed to participate in tryouts/practice/games if they do not bring a full water container with them.SPARTAN ATHLETIC INFORMATIONEligibility and ClearanceIn an attempt to streamline the athletic clearance process, Sossaman Middle School has gone paperless. Using the enclosed instructions, you will now complete the athletic clearance packet electronically at Register My Athlete. Please follow the enclosed instructions to register your students for athletic clearance, for the 20-21 school year.
