Cooley Middle School

 

Mr. Varner obtained his school administration certificate from Northern Arizona University, and he also holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Northern Arizona University. He received his bachelor’s degree in secondary education-social science, also from Northern Arizona This is Mr. Varner’s fourth year at Cooley and twenty-third year in education.  Before coming to Cooley he served as a high school assistant principal in Gilbert Public Schools for four years. Prior to that he was a junior high school dean of students/athletic director and instructional specialist in the Chandler Unified School District. His teaching career began in the Florence Unified School District, and he then taught in the Chandler Unified School district where he also coached cross country and track. A staple in Mr. Varner’s various experiences and roles in education is his genuine love of all aspects of the schooling and education process.

 

Mr. Varner and his wife have two active girls that keep them very busy. He is an avid sports fan with college football being his favorite sport…Go ASU!
