    What grades attend Cooley Middle School?
    The middles schools serve students in the 7th and 8th grades. There is also a preschool on site.
    How can I get involved at CMS?
    All members of the CMS community should register to receive the E-Alerts from our campus. E-Alerts include both a weekly update of campus news and upcoming events, as well as occasional mid-week announcements. Register by visiting this website and selecting Cooley Middle School as well as any other HUSD site from which you wish to receive E-alerts.
    We are always glad to have volunteers at school. Complete the volunteer packet to begin helping on campus. Cooley Middle School also has a parent teacher organization. Stop by the office for the latest update on PTO.
    How long will my child be on the bus?
    The transportation department expects the earliest pick-up will be at approximately 8:10 a.m.

    When will we know about bus stops and schedules?
    In July, families can expect to receive information in the mail that will specify bus stop locations, as well as pick-up and drop-off times. You can also contact the transportation department or click here for bus stop information. You can also email transportation@husd.org.

    What are the start and end times at the middle school?
    At CMS, the school day will begin at 8:55 a.m. and dismiss at 3:50 p.m. On Early Release Days, the school day will begin at 8:55 a.m. and dismiss at 1:35 p.m.
    When is the first day of school?
    School starts this year on Monday, July 27th.

    Will there be orientation before the first day of school?
    Student schedules will be distributed on Wednesday, July 22nd from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Student Union building, which contains both the gym and the cafeteria.  We encourage parents to come in and explore the campus and follow the student's schedule along with the student. 

    What is the cost for cafeteria meals?
    Students have both hot and cold choices each day. The cost of breakfast is $1.85 and lunch is $2.90 for students. In order to qualify for free or reduced meals, a new free/reduced application must be completed each year. These are available at the office or at Food Services. They can also be printed from here or completed on-line here.

    How long is lunch?
    Students will have 30 minutes to eat and socialize. Students are permitted to hang out on the basketball court and amphitheater areas but food is only allowed in the cafeteria and on the shaded patio.

    Are there lockers?
    No. The athletics lockers are only for sport and gym use.
