I was born and raised just outside of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I Graduated from Pennsylvania State University with my Bachelor's Degree for Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. From there, I went to Graduate School at Bloomsburg University where I received my Master's Degree in Special Education.

This is currently my 22nd year of teaching. I started my career as a Special Education teacher at Manassas Park Elementary in Manassas, Virginia where I worked with children in grades K-3. Then I decided I wanted a change of pace and transferred within my district to take a 5th grade position. During that time I also had the opportunity to coach softball on both the JV and Varsity softball team.

We relocated to Arizona for a change in scenery and to leave the fast paced life that was outside the Washington DC area. We traveled for 4 days, just about 2,400 miles and have finally settled down in Gilbert. It was tough to say goodbye to Virginia, but I was very excited to be accepted in this district with the great staff at Higley Traditional Academy. After being a 3rd grade teacher for a year and 1/2, I moved to 1st grade.
