My name is Mrs. Melanie Martin-Bodnar and I am excited to have you in my class this year. I would like to tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona. I went to Arizona State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and Human Development. I loved school so much I went on to earn a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I will begin my 17th year of teaching but I learn from the students as much as they learn from me.
My husband, Anthony, and I just got married in October 2018. We love camping, hiking, watching movies and exploring different places. When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family. I have three nieces that love to go shopping with me and browse the bookstore or library. I also have an adorable nephew who loves sharks and whales. In my spare time, I love to get lost in a good book and having a good time with my family.
This year I will be teaching in a dyad with Mrs. Carr. You can find out more about that by clicking on the tab "3rd Grade Dyad." I look forward to all the discovery, exploration and learning we will be doing this year.
