Hi! My name is Peggy Sturman, this is my 13th year teaching art in the Higley School District. I previously taught at San Tan Elementary, and in Cheyenne,Wyoming.

My art background goes back before I started school when my father would give me mini art lessons at home. I have always had a passion for art. Several of my siblings are professional artists also!

In school, I had several inspiring teachers who encouraged me to develop my talent, then went on to obtain a college degree, get married, work a short time in graphic design,do freelance art, teach art classes to neighborhood children and do commissioned portrait painting--as well as be a stay-at-home mom with my kids! I continue to experiment with various mediums and subjects for my personal enjoyment, and love to try new things!

I am a single mom with three amazing children. Two daughters that live in Wyoming, (one who is a teacher!) and a son who graduated from
U of A and is working in California.

I am excited for another year at Cortina and to work with your amazing children!!

"I love to experience the wonder of children as they learn to solve problems, create beauty and express themselves through art."
