Welcome to another school year! My name is Laura Garcia. At this time, I want to let you know a little about myself. I have been teaching second grade at Power Ranch for quite some time now. I feel very fortunate to be part of the Power Ranch staff! I have two boys, Matthew and Bryan who have been Power Ranch panthers since kindergarten. I love spending time with my family. My husband and I enjoy taking the boys camping, swimming, and we also love to travel.
Prior to working at Power Ranch, I taught 3rd grade in Fresno, California. I received my BA in Education from California State University, Fresno. I also have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in reading from NAU.
I believe that being a teacher brings many responsibilities. Teachers have the power of educating their students the best they can. Children are the future therefore, we can teach them that education is the path to success. As your child's teacher, I will do my best to create a classroom environment that will allow students to feel comfortable and confident. It is extremely important for students to be part of a safe and friendly learning environment.
