Chesley Sharp grew up in Calgary, Canada where he played the trumpet, tuba, and euphonium in school. He was also a member of the Calgary Stampede Marching Show Band, which allowed him to perform locally and abroad, including Japan, Germany, Holland, France, and England, where he was able to perform for Prince Andrew at Buckingham Palace.
He holds degrees from Ricks College, now BYU-Idaho, the University of Idaho, and the University of Nevada, Reno. He started teaching at Higley High in 2007, where he has taught concert band, marching band, jazz band percussion ensemble, and orchestra. Since moving to Arizona he has performed with the Tempe Symphonic Wind Ensemble, East Valley Mormon Choral Organization, and the CGCC concert band. Currently Mr. Sharp performs with the East Valley Brass Quintet.
