Welcome to the new school year! I am now working in Literacy Cafe. Teaching students to read has always been near and dear to my heart. This is the reason I decided to begin working in Literacy Cafe.
My husband, Dave, and I moved to Gilbert, Arizona, in 2001 with our three daughters, Amanda, Tiffany, and Brandi. We live right within the Higley Unified School District boundaries, and we love Gateway Pointe Elementary and its wonderful administration and staff. This is my fifteenth year at Gateway Pointe and I’m so excited to be here in Literacy Cafe.
I knew I wanted to work in a profession that helped people at a very young age. I got my Bachelors of Science in Lifestyle Management and worked in a hospital setting teaching people how to live healthier lives. I began coaching my daughters in various sports including basketball, softball, and soccer. It was at that time I realized I loved working with and teaching children, so I went back to school and got my teaching certificate.
