I'm Jill Rackle, one of Cortina's special education resource teachers. I will be working with students in kindergarten, first grade, second grade and even some third grade students this year. This will be my fourth year of teaching students with special learning needs in the resource setting at Cortina. Prior to that, I was a kindergarten teacher here for 10 years - I have been a Cortina Tiger since 2006 when the doors of Cortina Elementary School opened!
Prior to my 10 years teaching kindergarten, I taught special education resource students for one year and taught a self contained class for students with emotional and behavior disorders. My educational background includes earning degrees in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Special Education.
I was born and raised in Iowa (GO HAWKS!) My family moved to Arizona in 2001. I have two sons, one of whom is 21 and uses his creative talents and drive in the field of film and photography and one who is a senior in high school. In my spare time, I enjoy running, cycling, hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, and reading. I am always on the go and love any type of adventure!!
